Now, help is coming in the form of a micro-credit program, designed to enable skilled workers to begin their own businesses. With the help of missionaries Tanja and Stefan Hoffmann, the six young women are in the process of opening their own shop. "We hope that by early summer these young women will be successful businesswomen," say the Hoffmanns, “which would be a great encouragement to many.” |

In Africa, like many places around the world, work is sometimes hard to come by. Even skilled workers can find it difficult to secure steady employment. Such is the case for six young women in Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi. Trained as seamstresses, they have been unable to find steady employment. As the primary breadwinners for their families, this has been a hardship as well as a disappointment.
