While waiting for the service to begin in Chelyabinsk, Russia, Liebenzell missionaries Matthias and Damaris Braun began talking with a man. As the conversation progressed, he explained, “I am Christ? Do you not recognize me?” Hiding their initial shock, the Brauns explained that, according to the Bible, everyone will recognize Christ when He returns; “For just as the lightening comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Matthew 24:27) But the man quickly replied, "Yes! Soon I'm going to be on TV. Me and my message will spread around the world like lightning!”

Needless to say, Matthias and Damaris were surprised by the encounter. “We have realized how necessary it is that we talk to people about the biblical witness regarding the return of Jesus.” The Brauns note that while there is great interest in the end times in Russia, there is also much false and misleading information.
