Our missionary team in Malawi is very grateful that a recent children's day program went so well. Over 600 kids enjoyed a great day of fun, games, songs, and food – all tied together with Bible lesons. The main story was that of Bartimaeus, the blind man healed by Jesus, as told in the Gospel of Mark, chapter ten. "The play tried to convey to the children how difficult Bartimaeus' life must have been before Jesus gave him sight," writes Deborah Jägers. The children were then divided up into ten groups, where they examined more closely what it means to be blind, and how good it is to see. "It was great to hear 600 girls and boys praising God loudly," says Jägers. "We are also thankful for our many motivated local helpers too. The kids ran in sunny weather over the dusty earth, and their hungry stomachs were filled. We hope their souls were filled too. Please pray that many of them will begin coming to the regular youth group."
