Liebenzell Mission House TorontoOn a chilly but sunny Sunday afternoon in November, Liebenzell Mission of Canada celebrated  the dedication of their new Toronto property with special guests from the community and Mission leaders from Germany. The new Liebenzell House Toronto is located in the Parkdale neighborhood, one of the poorer areas of the city, with a large multicultural population.

Pastor Bill Dyck, of the Toronto Alliance Church, which has partnered with Liebenzell Canada in ministry, reported that Parkdale is home to the third largest Tibetan community in the world as well as hundreds of Roma (Gypsy) people who arrive daily in Toronto. “Most of them settle in the Parkdale area. Around 98% of these Roma will be sent back within two years. What an amazing window of opportunity to reach these people with the gospel of Christ!”

The building, which needed extensive renovations, now features eight bedrooms plus a Conference Roommanager’s suite, a full kitchen, a comfortable lounge area, and a meeting/class room. The facility will provide housing and ministry space for Liebenzell's international missionary training programs, as well as a center for Liebenzell Canada in the city of Toronto. At present, the house is occupied by eight missionaries-in-training, preparing to serve in Burundi, France, Ecuador, and Central Asia.
