Once a year Radio Punto, the radio station operated by Liebenzell Mission Ecuador, holds a fundraiser called "Radioton." It is an all-day event where all the volunteers come together to provide live programming. The AM radio station reaches over 200,000 people in the city of Ibarra, and surrounding communities.

Ned Farnsworth is the station’s manager and was in charge of the day-long event this year. “All in all, it was a successful event,” wrote Ned recently. “Thus far we have reached over half of our $1000 goal, which will fund various projects at the station.”

The day was made particularly interesting as various listeners actually stopped by the studios (located in the Puente de Amor church) to express their appreciation. Announcers invited some of them in to be interviewed, live, on the air.

The station broadcasts in Spanish and Quechua; they are in the process of applying for an FM license which would allow expanded programing and reach.
