This principle has has been the motivation for the missions organizations which have formed over the years to facilitate carrying out the Great Commission. In 1917 a number of independent mission agencies formed the Interdenominational Foreign Missions Association (IFMA). The goal was cooperation, a sharing or knowledge and resources, assisting and encouraging one another as each individual member and missionary went about their work of sharing the gospel. A few years ago, the IFMA changed its name to CrossGlobal Link. Liebenzell USA and Liebenzell Mission of Canada have been members for many years. In 1946, the the Evangelical Foreign Missions Association (EFMA) was formed out of the National Association for Evangelicals as an umbrella association for mission agencies including denominations. The EFMA became The Mission Exchange several years ago. Recognizing the common mission and purpose of both organizations, cooperation was a logical conclusion. The two groups combined for many different missions activities and, in October, 2011, formally agreed to merge. Missio Nexus is the new name for an organization representing 35,000 evangelical missionaries deployed in every country of the world by more than 190 agencies and churches. Missio Nexus is committed to advancing the effectiveness of the Great Commission community of North America in global mission, envisioning missional leaders accelerating the fulfillment of the Great Commission in servant partnership with the global church, and fostering shared learning to open doors for collaborative action which produces increased effectiveness.

Throughout scripture, from beginning to end, one common theme is that it is not good for people to be alone. We work better together, accomplish more, and are much more emotionally and spiritually healthy when we are in community.
