As a mission field . . .

Just as Liebenzell came into existence through evangelically-minded believers in Germany, it has been involved in many outreach ministries throughout the country over its history.

In recent years, a special effort has been made in the areas of the former East Germany. Although the reunification of Germany in 1990 created one country politically, it remains a nation with two very different personalities. One legacy of four and half decades of Communist rule in the east has been the lack of faith; only about one out of every three eastern Germans believe in the existence of God. Less than 3% of the population in these areas can be considered evangelical Christians.

About 15 years ago, an American couple began a church-planting ministry in Potsdam and Magdeburg. Today, two German couples work in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region, in a church planting and development ministry. An American woman works in Berlin with a church aimed at young people. Liebenzell recently expanded its outreach ministry in Berlin by adding three new missionaries.

During the summer months, Liebenzell evangelists conduct "tent meetings" in various locations as an opportunity to preach the gospel and encourage believers to a deeper commitment to Jesus Christ.

As a missionary sending organization . . .

The Black Forest village of Bad Liebenzell serves as the home of the Liebenzell Mission, the Liebenzell Bible seminary, and international headquarters of Liebenzell Mission International.
