Current Prayer Requests

Prayer requests from the people and for the work of Liebenzell Mission International.

Liebenzell has always been an organization anchored in prayer. The risen Lord asks His people to pray for open doors, for laborers, for boldness to witness, for the growth of His Church, and the maturity of its leaders.

Malawi: a good harvest needed
Wednesday, 10 March 2010 00:00    Print E-mail
Liebenzell missionaries Johannes and Veronica Urschitz report that the rainy season in Malawi has been "spotty" – which could lead to some food shortages later this year. "In some areas, the corn began to bloom while the plants were still very small and then stopped growing for a lack or rain. These fields won’t produce much crop. Recent steady rains have allowed farmers to plant other crops like cassava, sweet potatoes, groundnuts and rice. Please keep on praying for a good harvest."

Seth and Eunice, the children of Gabriel and Grace Pondrun (missionaries from Papua New Guinea), have received their “student permits” and are now able to attend Amano School with the other missionary kids. Their parents will take them from Malawi to Zambia this week. Pray for safe travels and for Seth and Eunice to feel at home and comfortable quickly at Amano School.

Ecuador field leader Ede Luz writes, “About 90 young people participated in a camp last week. The telling of the story of the prodigal son resulted in about 30 of them deciding on a life with Jesus. Please pray that they will ‘stick with it.’”

Samuel Strauss
Friday, 05 March 2010 00:00    Print E-mail

Samuel Strauss’ operation, which was scheduled for February 25th, did not go ahead as planned. The surgeon decided that removing the screws in his hip was too risky. For now, Samuel will continue with physical therapy. Please pray for wisdom regarding the next step!

This missions team in Ecuador is grateful for all the prayers for Ecuadorian pastor Washington Pozo. After many extensive and costly examinations, an intestinal virus was finally discovered. Since treatment began, he is doing noticeably better.

During a recent trip, coworkers were able to reconnect with some friends in the area where they used to live and work; pray that these renewed relationships can be maintained and strengthened in spite of the distance.
