Make an IMPACT |

Several years ago Liebenzell Mission of Germany seized the opportunity to get young adults involved in serious short term missions experiences by creating the IMPACT program. Teams of up to ten young adults (age 18 to 30) live, learn, and work together to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. In the past three years, IMPACT teams have served in Ecuador, Russia, Micronesia, Palau, Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea, Spain, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Canada, and the U.S.
But all these teams have been comprised of young adults from Germany. For the summer of 2012, the IMPACT program wants to put the “international” back in Liebenzell Mission International by assembling a team from several different countries to serve together for three months in Micronesia. We’re looking for at least two Americans to engage in a wide variety of ministries in Yap and Palau.
The team will gather in Guam in the middle of June for a few days of getting acquainted, some team building, and preparation. During their three-month assignment, the team will conduct children’s and youth ministry, church ministry, evangelistic outreaches, prison ministry, and help with some maintenance projects in the island churches.
The cost of the trip will be around $1,250 which will include room and board and ministry transportation; it does not include travel to Guam and health insurance. If God is calling you to make an impact, use the Contact Us link, above, to request more information. Pacific Islands University in Guam is looking for a variety of college-level instructors and academic personnel. PIU is a fully accredited, four-year university with a culturally diverse student body (primarily from Micronesia). There are about 100 full-time students at the Guam campus; PIU also maintains remote teaching facilities in Chuuk and Yap, Micronesia, and the Republic of Palau.
All instruction is done in English. Pacific Islands Bible College offers a certificate, associate and bachelor degrees in Bible. Pacific Islands Evangelical Seminary offers a Master's degree in Biblical Studies. Pacific Islands Christian College offers a liberal arts degree with an emphasis on training teachers. PIU is accredited by a U.S. association.
The school’s present academic staff needs include:
• Professors of English: a doctorate level is preferred, a masters degree required. Experience and certification in TESL would be very helpful. There is also a need for a remedial English instructor with a BA in English or other area with TESL training/experience. A culturally diverse student body (primarily from Micronesia) needs assistance in mastering higher levels of English reading, writing and comprehension. Although the university campus is in Guam, there may be opportunities for travel and teaching on other Micronesian islands.
• Professor of Education: There is a critical shortage of trained teachers throughout the Micronesian islands; PIU wants to establish a program to train Christian teachers to serve in island schools, training the next generation. PIU is looking for someone with an Ed.D. to set up and supervise the Education program.
• Professors in Liberal Arts and Recreational Ministry: a doctorate level is preferred, a masters degree required. These courses form the backbone of Pacific Islands Christian College, preparing students for careers in Micronesia.
• Professors for the Bible College and Seminary: A doctoral degree is required to teach for the seminary; a master’s degree is required to teach the Bible College courses. PIU needs instructors in Theology, New Testament, Missiology and Biblical Counseling. The university is also seeking a resident counselor certified in supervising student interns.
The majority of those who currently work at PIU are in full-time ministry and have raised their own support as missionaries or volunteers. With the help of staff and faculty working in supported positions, PIU is able to carry out its vision of making an accessible, excellent, transformational college education with a biblical world view accessible to the Pacific Region.
Liebenzell is a faith mission; all of our missionaries depend upon the sacrificial support of their home church, families, missions-focused churches, and Christian friends to provide for their ministry needs.
